2025 was a similar year to 2024 for me. I worked at the same job and I largely did the same stuff. I went to a bunch of weddings and went to West Virginia. I ate less pizza than I would have liked to and ate more chicken from stop n shop than I would have liked to.
The Plex was upgraded to the modern age this year but the movie additions have been lacking, even with the 4k bluray drive firmware being correct now.
first some negativity, not to suggest there is not negativity throughout a bunch of this.
Things that made me angry
- Reels completely taking over Instagram.
- Now even finding photos on Instagram is difficult since the app has been entirely taken over by Reels and content from TikTok. I do not want the videos and I do not want pop music to autoplay when I do see a photo. Would be appreciative of Instagram adding a toggle. Not counting on being given that kind of control, but one could dream, instagram rotting my brain.
- Spotify becoming a video app.
- I do not want video podcast on my podcast app and I do not want music videos on my music app. Just give me audio and let me use YouTube for video.

Best movies of 2025.
- One battle After Another
- This movie was AWESOME! Movie done with so much care. Everything had effort put into and everything was done by very talented people. All the casts and characters were great, not great people though. Unexpected things happening in this movie were hilarious and all felt so original. Leodicrapio is very funny and Bob was a funny character. Spoiler alert - i'm glad the movie had a good ending. Sick of movies with bad endings.

- This movie was AWESOME! I love 3d movies. I saw this in a dolby 3d cinema with a "laser" projector. barely know what that means besides lasers are high tech. The picture quality, resolution and effects were better than anything I have ever seen projected before. Really surpasses even the next crazy thing and really only compares to Avatar 2 which I confirmed over the weekend, really does out class the Avatar 2 Disney giving so much money to their actors and you wind up with Avengers which cost comparable to Avatars but look no where nearly as good. James Cameron is a legend.

- This movie was AWESOME! I'm all in on this and Top gun maverick being some old dudes getting called back into the action and do it with the most absurd technology with the filmmaking. I can't wait for Miami Vice movie.

Best video games of 2025
- Arc Raiders
- Talking on the mic to strangers nearby in the game world is a ton of fun in this game. I like the rooster/chicken which goes out and collects supplies for you. Great graphics and gameplay.
- Battlefield 6
- Much better than bf2042, shame all the bfbc2 and bf3 maps weren't carried forward. I also didn't mind the attachment toggling feature, and calling in robot dogs were fun. Glad the zip line and wing suit are gone.
Good games of 2025 but will not go down in the history books by me as all-timers, at least yet.

- Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 + 4 remake
- THPS 1 and 2 have better maps and something was nice about that remake as well.

A look at 2026
2026 has some big stuff in the works. The Great Wedding and GTA 6 are two biggies.
